Frequently Asked Questions

Do eyelash curlers affect your eyelashes?
While it’s true that some lash curlers can affect your eyelashes, how they do so depends on the quality of the tool and how you use it. Using an eyelash curler incorrectly can damage your lashes or cause discomfort. Common mistakes include not starting with clean lashes, using excessive pressure, curling after applying mascara, improper positioning, holding the curler too long, and not replacing the curler pad.
When used correctly, an eyelash curler can help give your lashes a beautiful, natural curl, enhancing the overall look of your eyes. Our new Instant Lash™ Lift Eyelash Curler is easy to use and designed with the ideal shape to fit any eye. It captures every lash hair without crimping or pinching, which helps negate wear and tear on your lashes!
Do you put mascara on before using an eyelash curler?
We suggest applying our Liquid Lash™ Extensions Mascara after a lash curler, such as Thrive Causemetics® Instant Lash™ Lift Lash Curler! To get the best results, use an eyelash curler on clean, dry lashes and then apply mascara in a light, even coat. This sequence helps to achieve a natural-looking, long-lasting curl with well-defined lashes.
Also, applying mascara before curling can cause your lashes to become stiff and less flexible, increasing the risk of breakage when using a lash curler. Curling first helps avoid this problem and keeps your lashes in tip-top shape!
How often should I replace the pads on my eyelash curler?
We recommend replacing the silicone gel pad on your lash curler every 3 months to get a perfect curl every time. Additionally, fresh pads promote proper hygiene (read: icky makeup residue and bacteria) to help prevent the risk of eye infections or irritation. Worn-out pads can also lead to uneven pressure on your lashes, resulting in breakage and damage. Replacing the pads regularly helps ensure that your eyelash curler remains effective, safe, and comfortable to use.
