What concealer shade is best for dark circles?

The best shade to counteract dark circles can vary. If the tone of your dark circles appears blue or green then you want to select a shade within the cool undertone family. If your dark circles appear purple then you want to select a shade within the warm undertone family.

How do I find my highlight shade?

When wanting to brighten and highlight the under eyes, we recommend selecting a shade that is 2-3 shades lighter than your complexion.

How can I make my concealer last all day?

Our Buildable Blur™ HD Creaseless Concealer is truly waterproof and offers creaseless coverage that lasts up to 16 hours, but if you’re looking to make it last even longer, apply our Eye Lift 360°™ Waterproof Eyeshadow Primer under your eyes before applying concealer for up to 24 hours of long-lasting wear.

Can I wear this alone or does it need to be paired with the Buildable Blur™ CC Cream?

You can absolutely use the Buildable Blur™ HD Creaseless Concealer by itself. Simply apply under the eyes and/or anywhere you need extra coverage for an easy 5-minute makeup look.

Should concealer be lighter or darker?

Concealer makeup should generally be slightly lighter than your natural skin tone, but it depends on how you choose to use it. For example, to brighten the under-eye area, choose a shade one to two shades lighter than your natural skin tone. If you’re looking to spot conceal blemishes, choose a shade similar to your foundation. On the flip side, if you're using concealer makeup for contouring, go one to two shades darker than your skin tone to sculpt and define areas like your cheekbones, forehead, and jawline.

Do you put concealer or foundation first?

Applying foundation first allows you to even out your skin tone and cover some imperfections, so you’ll need less concealer. Then, you can use concealer to target specific areas that need extra coverage, like under the eyes or over blemishes. However, there is an exception to the rule!  You may also prefer applying a color-correcting concealer before foundation to neutralize redness, dark spots, or discoloration.

Always remember to test the shade in natural light and consider the fact that you may have to switch things up if your skin tone changes with the seasons or a beachy vacay.
