Thrive Causemetics® Los Angeles Wildfire Recovery Scholarship

If you or someone you know have been affected by the Palisades or Eaton Canyon/Altadena wildfires, you are not alone. This scholarship is here to support those continuing their education in the face of loss, displacement, or hardship—because your resilience deserves to be recognized and uplifted. More than financial aid, this is a step toward healing and building brighter futures in the communities impacted.

Deadline to Apply: September 30, 2025
Eligibility Criteria
This scholarship is open to individuals pursuing education during the 2025–2026 academic year, including those enrolling in Fall 2025 or Fall 2026.
Applicants must:
Plan to attend an accredited 2- or 4-year college, university, or trade/vocational program, including cosmetology or makeup artistry schools.
Be one of the following:
- An incoming high school senior (Class of 2026)
- A recent high school graduate
- A current college or trade school student
- An individual not currently in school but enrolled or planning to enroll in Fall 2025 or Fall 2026
Have been personally impacted by the 2025 Los Angeles Wildfires, including evacuation, loss of home, or significant financial hardship.
Have lived in or near one of the affected areas during the time of the wildfires:
- Palisades, Los Angeles, CA
- Eaton Canyon / Altadena, CA
Be a U.S. citizen or legal resident attending—or planning to attend—an educational institution located in the U.S. or a U.S. territory.
Award Details
Thrive Causemetics® Foundation, in conjunction with Scholarship America, will award ten (10) scholarships of $10,000 each, providing a total of $100,000 in educational assistance to students impacted by the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires.
Scholarships may be used toward tuition, books, supplies, or other approved educational expenses.
Awards will be paid directly to each recipient’s school by Scholarship America, starting in December 2025 who are currently enrolled. For high school seniors or students not yet enrolled, awards will be disbursed once enrollment is confirmed.
This is a one-time, non-renewable scholarship.
Applicants must meet all eligibility criteria and submit all required materials by the deadline to be considered.
Timeline
Application opens: August 9, 2025
Application deadline: September 30, 2025
Recipients notified: November 2025
Funds disbursed: Starting in December 2025 for currently enrolled students; funds for other recipients will be disbursed upon enrollment verification

Alignment with eligibility criteria
Demonstrated impact from wildfire events
Strength and authenticity of personal story
Clarity of educational and career goals
Level of financial need

Eligibility and Verification
Applicants must meet all eligibility criteria when they apply. Thrive Causemetics® Foundation and Scholarship America reserve the right to verify information submitted, including proof of residency, school enrollment, and wildfire impact. Providing false or misleading information may result in disqualification.
Scholarship Award and Use of Funds
Funds will be disbursed directly to each recipient’s educational institution for use toward tuition, books, supplies, or other verified expenses. This is a non-transferable, one-time award and cannot be redeemed for cash.
Application Materials
All submitted materials become the property of Thrive Causemetics® Foundation. Applicants grant Thrive Causemetics® Foundation the right to use de-identified excerpts or content from submissions for promotional, educational, or impact reporting purposes, unless prohibited by law.
Privacy and Data Usage
Personal information will be used only for reviewing applications for and administering the scholarship. It will not be shared with third parties. Access is limited to the internal team and the scholarship selection committee.
Selection and Notification
All decisions are final and made at the sole discretion of Thrive Causemetics® Foundation. Recipients will be notified via the contact information provided. Thrive Causemetics® Foundation is not responsible for issues caused by outdated or incorrect contact information.
Program Modifications or Termination
Thrive Causemetics® Foundation and Scholarship America may modify, suspend, or terminate the scholarship program at any time due to unforeseen circumstances such as natural disasters, fraud, or funding changes.
Compliance with Laws
This program is void where prohibited and subject to all applicable laws and regulations.
No Employment or Endorsement Relationship
Receiving a scholarship does not imply employment or endorsement by Thrive Causemetics® Foundation.
Publicity Consent
Recipients may be invited to share their stories for promotional purposes. Participation is voluntary and will not affect scholarship selection.
