At Thrive Causemetics®, we are honored to have supported just over 500 Giving Partners through our Bigger Than Beauty® Giving Program! Our community grows each year, and we always look forward to expanding the Thrive Causemetics® family. A few organizations have been with us since the very beginning and for that we are so grateful. This includes the Keep A Breast Foundation (KAB), an incredible organization working to reduce breast cancer risk and its impact globally through art, education, prevention and action.
Thrive Causemetics® first joined forces with KAB all the way back in 2015, at a Young Survival Coalition event in Seattle, Washington. This event was designed to help young breast cancer survivors create mutual connections to feel supported, empowered and hopeful.

This event marks the first time we met Shaney jo Darden, the Founder of Keep A Breast! Shaney jo founded KAB in 2000, after a close friend was diagnosed with breast cancer. She is a leading voice and philanthropy expert in the cultural conversation about breast cancer, and has received many awards for her innovative fusion of advocacy and art.
At Thrive Causemetics®, we name all of our color cosmetics after people who have inspired the brand in someway. So, earlier this year, we were thrilled to launch our “Shaney jo” Infinity Waterproof Eyeshadow Stick™, to honor the incredible work Shaney jo has done to support the cancer community. This shade is a beautiful caramel matte color that looks incredible on all skin tones.
Shaney jo is an innovator, paving a new path in breast cancer awareness through prevention and education. KAB believes that “prevention is the cure”, and with this value, they sought to create an app that would educate individuals on their own breast health journey. On October 1st, 2019, Thrive Causemetics® pledged 100% of profits to fully fund the launch of Keep A Breast’s newly redesigned app! We donated over $130,000 to help with their efforts.

The Keep A Breast app empowers women - especially younger women - to be their own health advocates by making breast health information more widely accessible. This includes step-by-step self-check tutorials featuring animated GIFs, expanded breast health resources and information, and methods to access medical and emotional support when needed. According to Keep A Breast's website, about 1 in 8 women will get breast cancer in their lifetime. When breast cancer is detected early, in the localized stage, the 5-year survival rate is 98%.
The KAB App has been downloaded more than 150,000 times all over the world. It is available in both English and French, and now Spanish. The Keep A Breast app is available as a free download from the Apple Store and Google Play. You can find out more about Keep A Breast Foundation on their website or by scanning the QR code above.
To celebrate the launch of this new app, Shaney jo co-hosted a Thrive Causemetics® office party in early 2020 (pre-pandemic), where she shared breast health information and guided the team through app features.
Since our partnership began in 2015, YOU have helped us donate over $150,000 in cash and Thrive Causemetics® products to the Keep A Breast Foundation to support breast cancer prevention and education all over the world.
Thanks to YOU, our Giving Partners are empowered to create real, positive change in this world. Together, we're Bigger Than Beauty®.

I just ordered eye brow liner and didn’t realize your company was so involved with breast cancer. I am a recent survivor of breast cancer and reading all brought tears to my eyes. I’m so glad to have found you and will continue to support your products and company. Unless you walk in our shoes you cannot understand how real the fight is. Thank you from my heart

I too am a cancer survivor. I’ve had bladder, kidney and breast cancer all in one year. I can’t say enough how important early dectection is. I carry a mutant gene called PALB2 and I get tested every 6 months to see if cancer has gone somewhere else. I can’t thank Thrive enough for keeping women and men aware of how important it is to get checked.

I’m so grateful that someone is focusing on younger women! My daughter was diagnosed at 34 years of age…9 years ago. She had just weaned her second child after breast feeding him for 1 year, as she had breast fed her first child. Her doctor thought maybe it was mastitis or a problem with the birth control she was on and after 3 months finally sent her for a mammogram. She was staged 3C by this time. It’s been 9 years. Yes, she’s stage 4 now but fights every day of her life for her life! Thank yo

I just ordered my favorite mascara, had no idea you gave to such a great cause! I was diagnosed at age 52 (2013) no history of breast cancer in my family. I’m so glad to hear of the Save a Breast foundation. If I had been more aware I might have missed double mastectomy / chemotherapy. I’m thankful to be here and happy to support you!

I had no idea about this app! I love your mascara and love that you support breast cancer awareness. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in late May and just had a lumpectomy. I’m thankful for annual exams and that my NP did a thorough job and found the mass for me. I rarely to never did self checks – mostly because I had no idea what was dense tissue vs a mass. I am a huge supporter of self checks now!

I finished my chemo treatments for breast cancer in May. I received 2 support boxes from different breast cancer foundations. In each of them I received one of your cosmetics. I have lost about half of my eyelashes and your mascara works wonders. Very hard to feel pretty when you have lost your hair and half your eyelashes and eyebrows. I want to thank you for the items that I received and to say that they really do make a difference in how I feel and see myself. Thank you.

I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2020 but I also had a younger sister that was diagnosed with breast cancer in her mid 30s. She fought it for 9 years and passed away on 12/25/2018. I am blessed because my diagnoses was found very early and was removed through double mastectomy. This is a great cause for young women who are diagnosed but they do not need to go through the fight alone.
