Celebrating Black History Month at Thrive Causemetics®

This Black History Month, Thrive Causemetics® is honored to celebrate the contributions of Black change-makers who are building a better world through their activism. We have witnessed the dedication of our Giving Partners to create safe spaces for marginalized communities, and we are honored to work closely with such inspiring organizations. Read on to learn more about some of our best Giving Partners, led by Black founders and executives!

TOUCH, The Black Breast Cancer Alliance (BBCA) drives the collaborative efforts of patients, survivors, advocates, advocacy organizations, health care professionals, researchers, and pharmaceutical companies to work towards the common goal of eradicating Black Breast Cancer. 'Black Breast Cancer' is defined as the constellation of exposures, experiences, and lack of science for Black women diagnosed with breast cancer that causes Black women to face disproportionately worse breast cancer outcomes. TOUCH BBCA is founded by Ricki Fairley, a Triple-Negative Breast Cancer Survivor, and Valarie Worthy, a registered nurse.

Upward Bound House aims to eliminate homelessness among families with children by providing housing, supportive services, and advocacy. Christine Mirasy-Glasco is the President and CEO with over twenty-five years of experience in the field of homelessness.

House of GG creates safe and transformative spaces where members of the transgender community can heal — physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually — from the trauma arising from generations of transphobia, racism, sexism, poverty, ableism and violence, and nurture them into tomorrow’s leaders. They currently focus on supporting and nurturing the leadership of transgender women of color living in the U.S. South. House of GG was founded by Miss Major, a Black, transgender activist who has fought for over fifty years for her trans and gender-nonconforming community.

Black Emotional and Mental Health Collective (BEAM) is a national training, movement building, and grant making institution that is dedicated to the healing, wellness, and liberation of Black and marginalized communities. Yolo Akili Robinson is the Founder and Executive Director of BEAM, and is also known as an award-winning writer, healing justice worker, and yogi.

The National Network of Abortion Funds builds power with members to remove financial and logistical barriers to abortion access by centering people who have abortions and organizing at the intersections of racial, economic, and reproductive justice. Oriaku Njoku is the Executive Director for The National Network of Abortion Funds, and is also the Founder of ARC-Southeast (another Thrive Causemetics® Giving Partner!)

Thanks to you, we support Black communities year-round. Happy Black History Month!

@Araceli Hi! It sounds like you need some help selecting shades for your eyes and cheeks. Our Beauty Advice team would love to help you! You can connect with us via text message (310) 620-1535. When you send us a text, be sure to also send us a selfie in natural lighting. It would be most helpful to share a photo with no makeup on as well. We can’t wait to hear from you!
