This Giving Tuesday, Thrive Causemetics and Bigger Than Beauty Skincare once again partnered with Shirley Raines and her transformative organization, Beauty 2 The Streetz, to make an impactful difference in Los Angeles’s Skid Row community. Together, we provided meals, beauty services, and essential resources to unhoused individuals, reinforcing our shared commitment to restore dignity, hope, and confidence.
A Day of Service and Empowerment
On Tuesday, December 3rd, a dedicated team of 30 Thrive Causemetics volunteers — including employees and friends — joined Beauty 2 The Streetz to serve approximately 250 individuals. From meals, to skincare and makeup applications, the day was filled with meaningful connections and empowering moments.
The following day, December 4th, our giving continued at the Beauty 2 The Streetz warehouse, where we helped pack over 600 holiday stockings. These stockings, filled with treats and essentials, will bring joy to unhoused children in Las Vegas, San Diego, and other communities.
Celebrating a Longstanding Partnership with Beauty 2 The Streetz
Our partnership with Beauty 2 The Streetz began in 2018 and has since become a cornerstone of Thrive Causemetics' giving mission. Together, we’ve achieved significant milestones:
- Over $1.4 Million Donated in Funds and Products
- The 'Shirley' Namesake Brilliant Face Highlighter: Honoring Shirley Raines’s impact, this product celebrates her beauty inside and out.
- Filtered Effects Protecting Primer SPF 37: Developed in collaboration with Shirley, this primer specifically addresses the sun protection needs of the unhoused, who often endure prolonged exposure to harsh weather conditions.
- Masterclass in Las Vegas: During this masterclass, we provided makeup tutorials and free makeup and skincare products to unhoused individuals.
- Giving Tuesday on Skid Row: What began as a one-time initiative in 2023 has now become an annual tradition. This year marked our second Giving Tuesday collaboration with Beauty 2 The Streetz, building on last year’s impactful event.
