As part of our ongoing mission to develop more environmentally-beneficial processes, we have officially become a Certified Cleanup Partner with environmental champion 4Ocean. This means that we have pledged to remove 20,000 pounds of plastic from the ocean, with the goal to earn their Plastic Neutral Certification in the future.
‘Plastic Neutrality’ means that our direct efforts to remove plastic waste from the world’s oceans, rivers, and coastlines will exceed our plastic footprint, enabling us to not only neutralize our plastic usage, but actually reduce environmental destruction in the environment.

We are so grateful for the hard work that 4Ocean does around the world to promote a 'clean ocean movement' and enabling businesses to conduct better practices for their customers and the world around us.

@Ruth We’re shaping a path to sustainability by making packaging with less excess materials and waste. We do use post-consumer materials in much of our packaging, however, the packaging/casing is not 100% post-consumer plastic for all of our products. The casings on our products are not currently recyclable with the makeup residue still inside of them. We understand your concern and will pass on your feedback to our team!

This is promising news. Does this mean that your packaging will be re-thought so that plastic will not be part of Thrive’s product packaging? There are several products I would like to try, such as the eyeshadow stick and palettes, but they are currently packaged in plastic so I am holding off. I have noticed that shipping packages have moved away from plastic, but how about the products themselves?
