Giving back has been a part of Thrive Causemetics®’ DNA since we launched five years ago in 2015. From day 1, our Founder and CEO Karissa Bodnar has been determined to create a brand truly Bigger than Beauty®—a beauty brand and philosophy that goes beyond skin deep by empowering women. We are so fortunate to be supported by a passionate, purpose-driven community we call our Thrive Causemetics® Community, who make Thrive Causemetics®’ giving mission possible every day. Together with their help, we have been able to donate products and funds totalling over $100 million to date.
Thrive Causemetics® has a one-of-a-kind platform that enables our mission: for every product sold, we donate to help a woman thrive. Our giving approach is centered around four pillars directly helping women who are fighting cancer, surviving domestic abuse, emerging from homelessness and adjusting to life outside the uniform. However, in times of critical need, we respond by expanding our mission to support those affected. In 2018, we committed to donating 100% of our proceeds from a single day of sales to support the residents and displaced animals affected by the wildfires in Northern and Southern California. Our community came out in full support that day, and together, we raised $250,000 to donate to 5 incredible non-profit organizations on the front lines of the crisis.
Now, in the wake of COVID-19, we are determined to give back as much as we can. Karissa Bodnar has personally donated $10K to The University of Washington Virology Lab, the first lab in Washington state capable of clinical COVID-19 tests. University of Washington Virology Lab is working with the state to urgently bring their capabilities into the community, testing first responders, healthcare workers, and the public to help save lives. University of Washington is Bodnar’s Alma Mater in Seattle and Washington (Bodnar’s home state) has been especially affected by the Coronavirus.
Thrive Causemetics® is committed to donating 100% of our profits from sales on thrivecausemetics.com on Friday, March 27, 2020, to Meals on Wheels, Baby2Baby and Feeding America—organizations providing meals and resources to the most vulnerable communities in the United States. Thanks to you, we will contribute much-needed aid and put our responsive giving mission into action.
