What is a Tubing Mascara + Why You’ll Love It

Long, voluminous lashes are one of the go-to ways to bring out your eyes, making them one of the most coveted looks in beauty. The majority of mascaras claim to lengthen and define lashes. Though most American formulas make lashes stand out by coating or painting them with color, a technology that originated in Japan is gaining traction in the U.S. beauty industry. Tubing technology gives a stunning lift to eyelashes that lasts, while also being effortless to remove. We use this technology to activate our best-selling Liquid Lash Extensions™ Mascara for luxuriously long lashes that mimic the look of extensions. Discover how tubing technology can truly take your lash game up a notch.

How Does Tubing Technology Work?
Tubing mascaras are made with flexible polymers that wrap around each individual lash, resembling little tubes, that can extend beyond lashes to give them length, curl and definition. These tubes also act like mini shields wrapped around your lashes, giving tubing formulas the ability to resist water and smudging so you never have raccoon eyes again. Additionally, the tubes offer a conditioning effect to nourish your lashes instead of making them weak or brittle. Tubing mascaras have the durability to be a perfect everyday mascara with the lengthening capabilities for a sophisticated edge.

How to Apply Tubing Mascara
Tubing mascaras are easy to apply. To give your lashes the maximum curl, it’s best to start with a curler like our Lash Upgrade Lash Curler™ that offers a crimp-free and pinch-free curl. Then, use the mascara wand at the base of your lashes and slowly sweep through from root to tip. Tubing formulas can be a little wet when you first apply, but they dry within 60-90 seconds. If you want to give your lashes a really high-impact volume, apply additional coats while the formula is still wet. You can also build more length by applying product to the tip of your lashes.

How to Remove Tubing Mascara
Though tubes might sound difficult to remove from lashes, the process is actually really simple. Just wet a cloth with warm water and apply gentle pressure to your lids, and the tubes will effortlessly come off. You can wash them away even faster with a gentle cleanser that’s safe to use around the eyes like our Bright Balance™ Hydrating Gel Cleanser. People often mistake the tubes for their actual lashes, but we assure you it’s just the tubes, and your lashes are still perfectly in place.

What Other Benefits Does Liquid Lash Extensions™ Mascara Offer?
Not only, does our mascara offer the length and ease of a tubing formula, but it’s packed with advanced natural ingredients to deeply condition and nourish your lashes. Our Orchid Stem Cell Complex™ actually helps stimulate and support healthier and fuller-looking lashes over time. Our formula protects your lashes from breakage through our Youth B5 Complex™ that uses vitamin B5 + sodium hyaluronate to deliver intense moisture and make lashes stronger. Castor seed oil and shea butter also help deeply hydrate lashes and are historically known to be powerhouse ingredients that support healthier and longer lashes.

The ultra-flexible film-forming polymers that make up the tubes in our mascara are enriched with rejuvenating Korean pasque flower extract and use Flake-Free Tubing Technology™ to lengthen and fortify every lash from root to tip. Our proprietary technology also ensures you can wear our mascara without any worries about clumping, smudging or flaking.

Those with sensitive eyes can rest assured that our formula won’t cause irritation. Our vegan and cruelty-free mascara is ophthalmologist tested and approved to be gentle enough for sensitive eyes and exceptionally safe for contact lens wearers.

@Kathi We’re so sorry to hear of this experience with our Liquid Lash Extensions Mascara! To give your lashes really high-impact volume without clumping, apply additional coats while the formula is still wet. If you have been applying your mascara by moving the wand back and forth horizontally while simultaneously moving out towards the tips of your lashes, we suggest applying your mascara by combing straight from root to tip as this may also help you experience less clumping! :)
