@Yvonne This is a great question! Our mission to be Bigger Than Beauty is infused in all we do at Thrive Causemetics! We are proud to partner with incredible organizations across the country that empower communities from one of our eight giving causes: cancer, homelessness and poverty, domestic abuse, racial and social justice, education, LGBTQ+, veterans and under-resourced youth. We practice Responsive Giving meaning we listen to nonprofits and contribute in ways that best address their needs.

As a young woman I did over 70 hours of domestic violence training. I volunteered over 7,000 hrs running a domestic violence program at the Prosecutors Office. I then worked with Sex Offenders TX for over 10 years. After all that, I fell prey to a very abusive man. I had to move to another island to get away and divorce this man. I was so embarrassed that I had married and stayed with him for 6 years that no one knew what was going on. It still baffles me at times. I got my divorce, but he left the United States owing me over 225,000 in 2008, now with interest it is over $1 million. I am aware that I will never see it. I lost my job, my apartment and was houseless for over 8 months. I am somewhat back on my feet. I didn’t know he had given me Hepatitis C and sleeping on the ground for those months I became very ill and nearly died. I was in a coma for 2 weeks and luckily I survived, but am disabled. I have memory loss, intense and chronic pain, and have ups and downs with bi-polar 11, and suffer with anxiety and PTSD. However, My life belongs to me. !!! I treat houseless people’s with the dignity they deserve. Even when I was houseless I would give people $5-$15 to get food or help. Giving to others, I am more at peace. Whatever I have given whether I help with $, counseling, and treating people they way they should be treated has come back to me 10 fold. I am at peace and hope others can learn from my experiences. Your annual report is professionally written, laid out and easy to read. The pictures tell a great story. I used to publish similar products for my union so I know how much work is involved.
